A truly unique residence, standing in approximately half an acre of its own gardens with views over open countryside.
Located with the best of all worlds, twenty minutes from the North Cornish coast at Bude, Widemouth Bay and Crackington Haven, but also easily accessible to the A30 and M5 for the commuter.
Ideal work from home location with an abundance of opportunities to create office and work space.
The Old School presents itself as a desirable and spacious home, a highlight of the property is the original school room which is some 40ft long and has been pleasingly repurposed into two reception rooms comprising the sitting room with wood burning stove and the exposed beam dining room.
Originally built in the mid 1870’s, Tresmeer Primary school ran for some one hundred years and closed around 1966. The Old School was in due course converted into this spectacular family home which we are delighted to bring to market. The generous accommodation is arranged around the central double height drawing and dining room, formerly the main school classroom. There is a host of character features such as arched granite mullion windows, striking staircase to a Minstrel galleried landing, and high ceiling.
The Old School enjoys oil fired central heating and three of the five bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Standing in its own grounds with ample parking and lawns to the front and rear, both of which enjoy a pleasant outlook and the gardens and lawns to the rear of the property have views to open farmland and both Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor in the distance. You will also find a decked area to the rear of the property, perfect for summer dining and entertaining plus the benefit of a useful garage and outbuildings.
The current owners who have enjoyed The Old School for some twelve years and during this time have made various improvements and in particular a rather stylish extension to the kitchen to create a preparation area.
