    Located on the southern Charente/Dordogne borders, about 1km from the small town of St. Séverin, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The property offers total peace & quiet, whilst being within easy reach (5 mins. drive) of a host of activities - golf, tennis, riding, canoeing, fishing, sightseeing, shopping & restaurants. Ideally located between the Dordogne, Bordeaux wine country and the Atlantic coast, there is masses to see & do in the immediate area as well as further afield. Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, a beautiful listed medieval hillside village, is about 6kms away with a river beach, good choice of restaurants, galleries, craft shops etc. & an amazing monolithic church! St. Séverin (1 km) has small shops - WALK FOR BREAD - supermarket, bank (ATM/cash point), post office, hotel, doctor, a few bars & restaurants, tennis courts and mini golf. Ribérac (12kms) has larger shops & supermarkets, plus a renowned Friday morning market.

    Golf/tennis/country club with bar and restaurant at Le Manoir de Longeveaux 5kms. Bakery 1km. St. Severin 1km - small supermarket, shops, bank, cash point, post office, bars, doctor, internet café etc.

    Aubeterre-sur-Dronne 6kms - very pretty listed medieval hillside village with tourist office, amazing 11th century monolithic church, craft shops, cash point, restaurants, pizzeria, pavement cafés and concerts in summer, puppet theatre, river beach, boating, tennis, bike hire, horse riding.

St. Emilion (a UNESCO world heritage site) 45kms. Bergerac 50kms (airport). Cognac 50kms. Bordeaux 80kms (international airport). Atlantic beaches about 90kms. Royan 90 mins. Arcachon 2 hours.     LES ETANGS is a professionally restored 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom country house, stone-built, with plenty of exposed beams, plus private terrace, private pool & gardens and stunning countryside views. It is adjacent to one other similar property with its own pool, but there's plenty of privacy. The house is very spacious, light & airy, attractively decorated & furnished, fully equipped, with stunning countryside views all around - providing "the perfect place to unwind".

    - Kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tall fridge, microwave & gas cooker, plenty of utensils, crockery & glasses.
    - Utility room with washing machine (clothes horse, pegs, ironing board & steam iron)

    - Polished pine floors and exposed beams throughout first floor.
    - Spacious master bedroom (king size double bed) with lovely countryside views, en-suite shower room & WC.
    - Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4, each with 2 single beds, and countryside views
    - Family bathroom with bath/shower, basin, WC, and countryside views

    HEATING - wood burning stove in living room, wall mounted electric radiators in each room. It can be perfectly cosy in low season.
